Highspeed Steel Rods - Presented by Spirad Steels Pvt Ltd the Highspeed Steel Rods are made as per AISI M4, HS 6-5-4 standards. These rods have an excellent wear resistance with a hardness range of 61-65 HRC. Its specifications are as follows: max delivery hardness - as soft annealed: 280 HB, cold drawn - 320 HB, cold rolled - 320 HB, heat treatment - soft-annealing: at 850-900º C for 3 hours followed by slow cooling at 10ºC per hour down to 700ºC then air cooling; stress-relieving - at 600ºC to 700ºC for approximately 2 hours, slow cooling down to 500ºC; hardening with pre-heating in 2 steps - at 450-500ºC and 850-900ºC and austenitising at 1100-1220ºC; 2 tempers at 560ºC are recommended (maintain at least 1 hour each at temperature). Punches, dies, form tools, rolls and broach inserts are the areas of its application.
